My first year eagle guy now has to wait for his sibling. Finally got the early bird, but not with a worm. Those darn flying tree sparrows…
… they want to see eagles. The eagles obliged along with some of my other feathered friends.
A picture is worth a thousand very cold words. Yes, the eagles are still here. It’s too cold and icy where many of them live.
As soon as the crushing ice formed on the Hudson River and the rivers to the north, east, west and south, our migrant eagles joined us at the Croton Point Nature Center. Eagle watchers reported up to 44 eagles on the river.
Plus, we have a few other visitors in the area. The goldeneyes seem to be here in abundance. We also have a loon. A crow decided to harass a young merlin. The merlin won.
