Some of my favorites from 2016
The great white egret from Thornwood wowed me all spring, summer and fall. The bird got so used to people at its park that it often joined groups at the picnic tables.

Long Time Coming Back
Our visiting eagles arrived on Friday, February 10, 2017, just in time for the Teatown Lake Reservation Hudson River EagleFest. There were quite a few at Verplanck. At least we had one hanging around at the Croton Train Station Boat Ramp. Here are a few from Friday.

Eagle, Stay
It was worth the wait for our eagle visitors. One highlight was identification of a fourth year female from Bridgewater, Connecticut. It looks like she has a mature mate, but I am not counting on viable young this year. Our other guests were within spitting distance.

Eagle Come, Eagle Go
Our visitors arrived early this week. Twenty eagles fished at Indian Point on Wednesday. Eagles were perched north side of George’s Island. Flyovers at Charles Point and ice fishing on the Hudson. Warm weather is coming, so they will be going. George’s Island

Eagles 2016
Given the warm winter, our migrants stayed put. Our locals did their usual flying and fishing. Right now our pairs are getting ready to settle down until spring.

Awesome Autumn
I love this time of year. The colors of the leaves and birds are especially glorious.
